The restoration of various components on our
early 1966 GT350 (Carryover) continues. Today, we have a few pictures of the Koni shocks. Koni shocks were originally installed on all '65 GT350s and many of the '66s.
If you enjoy the details, it is interesting to note that these shocks were date stamped. The particular ones pictured here for 1966 Shelby number 6S033 are dated 4-65 for April of 1965. These had nice original paint, which was matched.
As Jeremy at
Maple Hill Restoration cleaned them up, he took pictures and noted the location of the unique, original Koni winged decals. These decals were originally a water transfer design. We are in the process of having these printed and available for purchase soon. They are rather delicate decals, so the restoration and refinishing involved a base/clear two stage paint that allowed protection for the decal. The final clear was the correct gloss level to duplicate the original finish.
