New! Mustang Record Player, AM/FM Stereo and MORE!

Mustang 4-in-1 retro music center with Turntable, Radio, USB and Aux input
www.VirginiaClassicMustang.com
This is definitely one of the coolest items that we have gotten in here in a while. It's a Mustang themed record player to play your old school vinyl, but it's much, much more.

It's a self contained unit with build in speakers, although there are RCA outputs if you would like to hook up others. There is a USB input that allows you to plug in any USB flash drive and play the music that you have on it. We tried it out...it's super easy and works great!

There is, of course, a built in AM/FM stereo too. You can even record your albums to a USB drive.

There is also an auxiliary input to hook up your phone or any other device.

Click here for more information or to order. This makes a super nice gift for any Mustang fan!

New! 65-66 and 67-73 Mustang Radios - AM/FM USB iPod Dock

1965-66 Mustang Radio.
www.VirginiaClassicMustang.com
We were extremely disappointed when the reproduction 65-66 AM/FM Mustang Radios were discontinued.

We just got in the replacement for this radio, and we could not be more pleased!

These new Mustang radios are fantastic!  They feature an original, vintage look, but with a flick of the slide bar, the digital LCD display shows.  Both models, of course, fit the factory dash (65-66) or radio bezel (67-73) with no modification.  They feature all of the modern "bells and whistles" like 300 peak watts, iPod control, USB port, color select LCD lights, and more.

As mentioned, there are two versions to fit your particular model Mustang:

RD-9611 65-66 Mustang AM / FM / iPod Doc / USB Radio

RD-9612  67-73 Mustang AM / FM / iPod Doc / USB Radio

Mustang and Ford Radio Suppressors Mounted at the Voltage Regulator

Mustang and Ford Radio Noise Suppressor / Capacitor mounted at Voltage Regulator.
www.VirginiaClassicMustang.com

We have reproduced the radio suppressors that mount at the voltage regulator on all Mustangs and Fords equipped with radios.  As the pictures show, we have made the style found on the '65's with the C3SA-18832-A number stamping, '66's with the C6OA-18832-A number and FoMoCo Script, and '67-71 with the C6OA-18832-A number and Autolite logo.  I'm aware that there were several versions of the Autolite stamped part.  We chose the one shown. These are correct, working parts with the proper plating, markings, wire and connector as shown.  I hope to have them ready to offer for sale within a few weeks.  I'll post them right here as soon as they are available for sale.  I'm very pleased with how they turned out.  Take a look!

Just the Details...Mustang Radio Suppressors Mounted at Voltage Regulators

Mustang Radio Suppressor mounted at voltage regulator on a Mustang.
www.VirginiaClassicMustang.com

One little detail that is sometimes a bit difficult to find is the Mustang radio suppressor that is attached to one of the voltage regular mounting screws.  They can be re-plated, but then you run into the problem of the piece not functioning properly, not to mention possible poor condition of the wiring plug.

These barrel or can shaped parts were on every Mustang equipped with a radio.  We dug through some parts and came up with a few variations.  We would be interested in any of our readers' feedback.  Which ones have you seen and what production date Mustangs (or other Fords) did they come from?  Email us or comment below.

We found the earlier version ('65-sometime in '66?) with the C3SA-18832-A number.  This one, as the others, has the number "648" in an oval.  Keep in mind, the 64 1/2 style used on generator equipped cars had a different wiring end - not the bullet connector type of end shown in the picture.

We have also found a version with a C6OA-18832-A number.  We have notice two versions - one with a FoMoCo Script in an oval as shown, and one with the Autolite logo.  Both are pictured below and also have the "648" number in the oval.

Let us know what is on your Mustang!!

Rare 1965-66 Mustang AM-FM Radio

It has been over 2 years since we posted this. I thought that it was worth another look. One of the rarest options for a 1966 Mustang was the AM-FM Radio. I believe that the first one that I purchased about 20 years ago was around $450.00. Recently, they have brought way more than that. Of course, now there is the nice reproduction available at a reasonable price.

This post is more about a very unusual AM-FM Radio that I purchased a long, long time ago. All of the original units that everyone is familiar with had "FORD" engraved on the slide bar. Well, I have a radio that actually has "MUSTANG" on the slide bar. I've shown the pictures to many people, but no one seems to have ever seen one like it or know the story behind it.

It is a very early unit with a March 5, 1965 stamping. It also appears to have originally had a black painted chassis. Here are some pictures of the radio along with some pictures of a "regular" AM-FM with the FORD on the slide bar.

The below pictures show the "MUSTANG" Slide Bar with the more polished or rounded edges.

This picture shows the "sharper" edges of the FORD slide bar.

The FORD Slide Bar also has a deeper engraving than the MUSTANG one.

1969-70 Mustang and Cougar Radio Support/Mounting Bracket

Here is a rather unique part that we thought was just worth a mention here on the Blog, since a lot of customers do not seem to know that it is now available.

It is the bracket that is used to mount and support all factory radios. This bracket also works with any of our aftermarket "shaft style" radios. As mentioned in the title, it will fit Mustangs and Cougars.

67-68 Mustang Radio Mounting Bracket

This part is a rather unique radio mounting bracket that was only used on 67 and 68 Mustangs that were equipped with a factory console. It is an essential part to eliminate loose consoles, rattles and excessive dash flex.

This is really a well made part. First, it is made in the USA by one of our customers. He just always had a difficult time locating this part when he would restore a 67-68 Mustang with a factory console. In order for the part to do it's job well like the original, it is made of heavy 16 gauge steel. No short cuts were taken in making this unique, hard-to-find part.
