The rubber filler neck hoses for gas tanks on Mustangs alway need replacement, and now we have ones Made in the USA! This particular version is an exact reproduction of the 1969-70 style, but can easily be used on earlier Mustangs by simply trimming it ('65-66 versions are shorter than later models.)

We also still have the import versions that are trimmed for the exact year models. Don't forget the clamps!

If you have a '65-68 Mustang, it originally came equipped with a 16 gallon gas tank. It's super easy to increase that capacity by 6 gallons by installing a 1970 22 gallon gas tank. No modifications are needed. You just need the gas tank, a '70 Fuel Sending Unit, and one of the special filler necks listed in this post.

There are quite a few fuel sending units available for classic Mustangs. Because of this, it sometimes gets confusing when the time comes to purchase one.

If you have the original sending unit or your current unit hasn't been replaced in a long time, it is very likely that you may need a new one. Hopefully, you will only replace it once!

With this new gas tank sending unit, it's a very good chance that you will never have to replace it again.

There are several features that make this fuel sending unit superior to every one currently offered. In the 1980s, Ford started using new ceramic circuit board rheostats and foam floats in all of their gas tank sending units. We have brought that technology to vintage Mustangs. Surprisingly, these units are priced less than some other units currently on the market, but don't be fooled by the low price.

Here are some of the features:

• Ceramic circuit rheostat will not corrode in ethanol and is resistant to sludge build up due to old fuel in cars that are not driven often.
• Modern foam float that will never leak! Much better than the original brass float!
• Stainless steel structure that is rust resistant.
• Ethanol resistant "O" ring included.

Installing a Larger Capacity 70 Gas Tank in Your 65-68 Mustang

A very popular swap for '65-66 and '67-68 Mustangs is to install a higher capacity 22 gallon gas tank in place of the original 16 gallon gas tank.

The gas tanks are the exact same dimensions, width and length, and the larger '70 gas tank will easily bolt right in any '65-68 Mustang with no modifications.  So, where does that extra 6 gallon capacity come from?  Well, it comes from the height of the tank, as you can see from the picture below.

A 16 gallon gas tank for '65-68 Mustangs is shown on the left.  A 22 gallon gas tank from a '70 Mustang will fit in a '65-68, increasing your fuel capacity by 6 gallons!  It is an easy swap with our new, custom-made filler necks.

That extra height, along with the angle of the inlet neck, presents a problem in mating the original fuel filler neck in the '65-68 Mustang to the taller '70 Mustang gas tank.

Our new, custom-made fuel filler necks take care of this problem.  They are made specifically for '65-66 Mustangs and '67-68 Mustangs and make installing the '70 gas tank into these models a breeze.

We now have these nice Scott Drake units available for 69, 70 and 71-73 Mustangs.  Just like the ones for the 65-68 Mustangs, these Fuel Tank Sending Units feature stainless steel construction with a brass float.

65 Mustang Fuel Pump Filter Canister

We have been waiting on this part for a long time!  We now have (due in around the first part of November 2011) the 1965 Mustang Fuel Pump Filter Canister.  This fuel filter canister is made just like the original and screws on the '65 style fuel pump.

It is white with the correct ribbing and indentations on the bottom.  It also features the the correct "FoMoCo Genuine Parts" logo along with the wording "For Service Instructions See Owners Manual."  This information is silkscreened on the canister in red, just like the original.  It is not a decal!

The little stars are even screened like the original above the FoMoCo logo.

There was a reproduction of this part available many years ago, and it has not been available for a long time.  This new one is even nicer with all of the correct details mentioned above.

The first run is limited, so order now!  Our part number is ER334.  We are really excited to have this part available!

Carter Fuel Pump Rebuild Kit

We now have Carter Fuel Pump Rebuild Kits.  Our part number is ER-69841. 

This Fuel Pump Rebuild Kit fits 1967 and up Mustangs (and other Fords) with the screwed together fuel pump body - 428 CJ and 428 SCJ (ID # 4441), Boss 302 (ID # 4910), 429 CJ (ID # 4907), Boss 429 and 429 SCJ (ID # 4842). It also fits Carter aftermarket pumps with the same application. The diaphragm is 4 1/16" diameter with 3 5/8" diameter screw circle.
