New! Big Block Ford Thermostat Housing

In addition to our EG-1771 Big Block Ford Thermostat Housing, we now have this new Thermostat Housing for your Mustang (or any Big Block Ford) without the threaded port for any emissions equipment.

This is our part number EG-1770.  It's a great alternative if you are running a "clean" set up without the factory emissions equipment.  It will fit any 67-70 Big Block.

Like our other Mustang thermostat housings, this is a quality piece made from pressure die cast aluminum.

Just the Details...More Mustang Date Codes

This early timing cover from a 289 Ford Engine is for an aluminum water pump.  Note the date coding.  The "65" is, of course, the year, and the 5 "dots" represent the months.  In this case, it is May.

Last week, we took a look at some date code stampings and castings on a 289 Engine.  Today, we will take a quick look at some date coding that you may find on some 65-66 Mustang (and other Ford) cast aluminum parts.  This method is usually a year code along with a series of dots to represent the number of months.

This cast aluminum bellhousing from a 1965 Mustang has the same style date coding as the timing cover in the image above.

Here is another example.  This time it is a cast aluminum thermostat housing from a 289.

Here is a different "twist" on the date format showing "tick marks" rather than dots.

1968-70 390/428 Ford Aluminum Water Neck (Thermostat Housing)

Wow, there are so many new, cool Mustang parts coming out, that it is difficult to blog about them all!

Here is one of the latest. It's the 68-70 Aluminum Water Neck for the Big Block 390 and 428 models. This is a nice part that was reproduced from New Old Stock (NOS) samples and Ford's original blue prints. It is pressure cast from A356 aluminum and is a very high quality casting. It will also fit pre-68 cars, but you must plug the emission control port. It also features the original Ford Engineering Part Number that is cast into the part.
