These are the "correct" ones made in the Original Ford Tooling out of the proper material.

Mustang Door Step Plates

We offer several versions of the Mustang door step plates (sometimes called door sill plates). Our favorite version is the USA made ones that are made in the original Ford Tooling. They are much more durable than the imported reproductions. More importantly, they fit so much better!

Take a look at the pictures below. The Ford Tooling Step Plates are formed properly to allow a much better fit for the overlap at the windlace in the rear and kick panel at the front.

1966 GT350 Shelby American Step Plate Labels

Here is a cool item that we got in a few weeks ago. It has already been an extremely popular part.

They are the step plate (or sill plate) labels for the 1966 GT350 Shelby. These labels can, of course, be used on any step plate. Detail is very important on a part like this, and these labels are very, very nice. They feature the correct raised borders and "CS" logos just like the originals.

These particular labels were originally used on most 1966 GT350 Shelbys except for the later serial numbers. Those later cars had the two line label with Shelby American and Los Angeles, CA."

Please note that the color variation of the labels in the below pictures are due to lighting and do not accurately reflect the actual color. The actual color of these aluminum labels is just like the original.

69-70 Mustang Polished Stainless Steel Step Plates

Step plates, sill plates, or whatever you want to call them-they often need replacing if you have the originals on your Mustang. We have the Ford Tooling ones like the originals, the reproductions for the budget-minded buyer, and polished stainless steel ones.

The polished stainless steel step plates for the 69-70 Mustang are brand new items that are now in stock. These step plates are more durable than the original, softer aluminum plates, and the polished stainless steel has a "chrome-like" look.

Made in the Original Ford Tooling! 1969-70 Step Plates

This is an absolutely great new part that just became available. It is the 1969-70 Mustang Step Plate made in the Original Ford Tooling. We call them Step Plates, but we have heard them also called Scuff Plates or Sill Plates. Anyway, these are a lot nicer than the current reproductions. They are even much better than some of the NOS (New Old Stock) ones that you may find. Repairs have been made to this original tooling since these last service parts were made.

These step plates fit all body styles of the 1969-70 Mustangs. They feature very nice detail and come with a protective plastic film. For many years, the Ford Service Parts have been made from brushed aluminum (possibly because of lower cost material.) The step plates that were originally installed on the assembly line were made from polished aluminum. These are made just like the originals!
