New Mustang Part! 65-68 Mustang Convertible Quarter Trim Snaps

Have you ever tried to install those original style Mustang convertible quarter trim snaps?  By "original style", I mean the ones that are basically tubular rivets on the backside and require you to expand the rivet to make them tighten in place.  It's very difficult.

Well, an easier solution is now available!  Our new 65-68 Mustang Convertible Quarter Trim Snaps have a threaded stud allowing you to install them by simply tightening the supplied nut.  The snap seen from the front looks exactly like the original.

These new, easy-to-install snaps are sold in a set of 6, which will do one car (3 on each side).  Our part number is ST-1431.

New! 65-68 Mustang Convertible Top Boot Retainer Strip

This is a really cool part that is now in stock!  It's the 1965-68 Convertible Top Boot Retainer.  The front edge of the top boot is made with a "V" shaped plastic strip sewn in.  The plastic strip fits into this retainer and secures the front of the top boot.

This reproduction retainer is made of polished stainless steel - exactly like the original.  Honestly, because of its stainless steel construction, this part is usually in good shape.  If you are missing it though, this part has previously been very, very difficult to find.

Here's the latest new part.  It's the mounting bracket for the convertible top motor on a 65-66 Mustang Convertible.  It mounts behind the rear seat and is made just like the original.

65-73 Mustang Convertible Top Trim - New Parts!

We now have "show correct" / concours convertible top rear bow molding in both black and white.  This trim is commonly referred to as "wire on".

Originally, this trim was a plastic channel with a plastic slide in insert.  The larger plastic trim is stapled to the bow and the smaller inner trim piece slides in the larger piece.  Our parts come in a 5 foot length, which is enough to do one car.  It is available in black or white.  It is made in the USA.  

This trim is exactly like the original part used on all 1965-73 Mustang convertibles.  It is not included in any convertible top kits.  All replacement tops use the vinyl wrapped replacement style pieces.

This original trim is wider than the replacement style trim and requires wider stainless steel end tips.  We have the exact correct tips also.

Mustang Convertible Top Hydraulic Cylinders

We now have an imported version of the 65-70 Mustang Convertible Top Hydraulic Lift Cylinder.  This imported version has a 5 year warranty.  Our part number is ST-1642.  Right and Left sides are the same.  They are sold individually, so purchase two per car.  It is often a good idea to install two new ones at the same time anyway in case one cylinder works, but happens to be weak.  These cylinders also fit Mercury Cougars.

We also still carry the cylinders that are made in the USA.  They carry a 3 year warranty.  They are available for both the 65-70 Mustang models (ST-164) and the 71-73 Mustang models (ST-1641).

71-73 Mustang Convertible Power Top Switch

Here is another cool part for you 1971, 1972 and 1973 Mustang guys and gals.  We now have the 71-73 Mustang Convertible Power Top Switch.  This is an exact reproduction of the original switch and includes the correct plastic knob along with the die cast chrome nut - both just like the originals.

69-70 Mustang Convertible Power Top Switch

Here is another nice, new part that has just been reproduced.  It is the exact reproduction of the 1969 and 1970 Mustang Convertible Power Top switch.  This switch is just like the original and features the correct die cast knob with the proper "TOP" lettering.

Mustang Convertible Top Wiring

There were lots of changes over the years in terms of the power top switch wiring on a Mustang Convertible. All of them used some type of circuit breaker or fuse link.

The first picture shows what was installed on the 1964 1/2 and 65 Mustangs. The bracket mounted the circuit breaker on the starter solenoid. Strangely enough, this set up apparently appeared again on many 1970 Convertibles (and maybe 71-73.) This is our part number ST155.

Next we have the set up for the 1966-68 models. This is an "isolator" style junction block. The block mounts below the starter solenoid. The hot wire from the power top switch attaches to the post and then there is a fuse link that attaches from there to the starter solenoid. This is a super nice reproduction that even includes the paper/cardboard cover like the original. It is part number ST156.

Finally, our new offering is for the 1969 (and maybe some 70 model) Mustang Convertibles. It is the entire feed wiring with a fuse link that plugs in at the end, just like the original. It is part number ST1561.

All of these parts are very difficult to find, so it is really nice to have these super reproductions available!

1968 Mustang Convertible Top Switch Assembly

They have been reproduced using the original Ford Blue Prints. They feature the correct wiring pigtail, bracket and knob with the "Top Control" lettering.
