There's nothing cooler than vintage photos, and these are just awesome! A friend of ours, Bob Garland, recently shared some photos that he took at the Bristol Spring Nationals in June of 1965.

At first, we were going to just share the Mustang ones, but they are all so darn good, we decided to share them all.

Bob also shared the story of how he drove down to the race and slept in his 1965 Mustang fastback. He also mentioned that he's pretty sure that he didn't get too much sleep!!

Check out the images of the A/FX Mustangs with the 427 SOHC engines that were campaigned and sponsored by Al Swenson Ford and Tasca Ford, Honest Charley by the "Honest Charley" lettered 1965 Mustang fastback pictured with John Holman, the Phil Bonner Mustang, Hemi Under Glass, Jack Chrisman Comet, Richard Petty (yeah, he was drag racing!!), and more!

Enjoy, and thanks to Bob for sharing these incredible pictures!!

Vintage Photos of Shelbys - 1966 GT350

1966 Shelby GT350 SFM6S033. Spring 1966. Yosemite Falls, California.
I love the history of these great old cars, and vintage pictures are the best "snapshot" of the history of  an old Mustang or Shelby. That's why it was so exciting this week when I received an unexpected print in the mail of one of my cars.

The above picture was taken in the Spring of 1966 by an employee of Shelby American who leased this '66 GT350 through Shelby's employee lease plan. It was taken at Yosemite Falls in California.

If you follow our Blog regularly, you may have been following the restoration of this car. It is SFM6S033, one of the "carryover" '66 Shelbys-an early production 1966.

Click here to see some of those posts.

The images posted below have been shared previously. They were given to us by the first retail owner shortly after he purchased the car in September of 1967.

Vintage Mustang Pictures

www.VirginiaClassicMustang.com
We were recently going through some of our own old photo albums and found these cool pictures.

The first one was taken at an indoor car show, probably in Washington, DC. It appears to be a '65 Mustang HiPo Convertible.

Then we have a really cool shot of a '65 Mustang Drag coupe campaigned by Bob Ford Inc from Dearborn, MI. There's another shot from a dragstrip, but it's a bit too far away to tell anything other than it's a '65 Mustang fastback.

The last one is super cool...it's the "prototype shorty" two seater Mustang. If you want to read more about this car, check out this blog post from a few years ago:
