NEW! Sequential LED Tail Lights for Your Classic Mustang

1965 and 1966 LED Sequential Tail Light Assembly
www.VirginiaClassicMustang.com
The tail lights on classic Mustangs are just not that bright. Now you can make your car safer with bright LED tail lights with the added bonus of being sequential.

These tail light assemblies are particularly cool, because the unit is all self contained. You get a new lens with the entire board built in and attached. It's also easy to install. You just plug it in the socket, just as you would plug in a bulb. There is an optional yellow wire that allows you to disable the "Brake Attention" which means when the brake pedal is initially engaged, all the lights come on rather than being sequential.

Here is the complete list (click on the links for more):

Our LED Flasher is also required for this installation.

If you are not particular about the FoMoCo stamping, you can still buy the same taillight bucket without the stamping.  It features the same super nice zinc plating, correct studs, correct socket, etc.

Both of these are great parts from Scott Drake Mustang Parts.

67 Shelby Tail Light Wiring Sockets

This is definitely an obscure part, but one that is probably needed if you own a 1967 GT350 or GT500 Shelby.  It is the tail lamp socket.

It is our part number ER-5813.

Along with this part, we also have the wiring harness pigtails.

Those are part number ER-5812.

That's the quick post for today.  Check with us Friday, we should have a nice picture update on our 1965 Mustang Convertible restoration project.  It's rolling on its own wheels and tires now!!

65 Mustang Tail Light Wiring Harness

Several months ago, we made a run of the 65 Mustang Tail Light Wiring Harnesses without the Back Up Light Wiring.  These went over very, very well, and we sold them all.  The Fastback versions were particularly popular among the Shelby guys.  We decided to make another run, so we now have more in stock.
Back up lights were an option on the 1965 Mustang.  For some reason, the Mustangs that were not equipped with this option actually received a different tail light wiring harness from the ones equipped with back up lights.

Correct plugs to plug into under dash wiring harness
On the cars without the lights, there was no wiring put in the harness for the back up lights.  With more folks wanting to really get the correct details on their restoration, we decided to make a limited run of harnesses exclusively for us that are correct.  We are really pleased with this wiring harness.  It includes all of the correct little details along with the properly integrated plugs to plug into the tail light bodies like the factory assembly line harness.

Correct Tail Light Socket Plug
The first one will be installed in our early 65 HiPo K Convertible project that you can read about right here on our Blog.

Little details like this really make a restoration.

Correct Gas Tank Sending Unit Wiring Lead with proper covering, plug and grommet
Again, this wiring harness is correct for all alternator equipped Mustangs without back up lights.  This would include all of the 65 GT350 Mustangs (Shelbys) and the early 66 GT350 Carryover cars.  None of those cars were originally equipped with back up lights.

65-66 Mustang Chrome Tail Light Bezels

One of the parts that always needs replacing during the restoration of a 1965-66 Mustang are the Chrome Tail Light Doors. Through the years there have been a few reproductions available-some better than others. The ones from Ford are obsolete, but there are some NOS bezels floating around out there for a price!

Even on a super, high end restoration, we would recommend our USA made Chrome 65-66 Tail Light Bezels. These are very, very nice parts and actually superior to the NOS Ford Service Part. Our part number is ER-3512, and they are only $49.95 for a pair.

If you are doing a budget restoration, we have imported Tail Light Bezels also for only $14.95 each. The part number is ER-35.

65-66 Mustang Tail Light Bodies

Sometimes we use this space to just go into a little more detail about a particular part. Today, we are going to look at the 65-66 Mustang Tail Light Body.

It seems like the tail light bodies on these model Mustangs are always a bit rusty. Cosmetically, yeah, you could always throw a little silver paint on them, but these new ones are really nice. They even feature very nice clear zinc plating like the originals.

Even more importantly, they work well! Original Mustang tail light body sockets are often corroded. The sockets in these assemblies are just like the originals, and they work great.

Another problem with old originals is the fact that the studs sometimes are loose. These new bodies feature nicely pressed in studs like the originals.

You should be aware that there is also more than one reproduction on the market. We only handle the Scott Drake brand. We have found that these are far superior to the other brand on the market.

Mustang Tail Light Bodies / Housings

With the addition of the new 1970 Mustang Tail Light Body, we now have Tail Light Bodies to fit Mustangs from 1965 to 1970. They all feature nice zinc plating like the originals, except, of course the 71-73 body, which is made in plastic like the original.1965-66 Mustang Tail Light Body - Part number ER66.1967-68 Mustang Tail Light Body - Part number ER659.1969 Mustang Tail Light Body - Part number ER6595.

70 Mustang Chrome Tail Light Bezels

We now have a more affordable alternative to the Original Ford Tooling 70 Chrome Tail Light Doors. These brand new reproductions are very, very nice. Originally, there was a specific part for the RH and LH side. There is only a minor difference between the original LH and RH bezels, so we slightly changed the corner radius to be the same for LH and RH. The difference is unnoticeable. These feature beautiful chrome plating with black and silver painted accents exactly like the originals. They also include mounting studs and nuts.

The Original Ford Tooling Bezels are still available as ER40R and ER40L.

These new reproductions are part number ER4099.
