MOOG brand and Made in the USA. These are complete lower control arms with a very high quality ball joint properly riveted in along with the bushing on the mounting end.

These front suspension lower arms are actually a great improvement over the originals and were previously unavailable. Thousands have been used over the years in applications from everyday drivers to Mustangs regularly used on the race track.

Just the Details...1967 Shelby Mustang GT500 Restoration

It's been a few months since we have posted any updates on one of the current projects that Jeremy is working on at Maple Hill Restoration. Here is a link to the last post if you missed it.

This is an original paint 1967 Shelby GT500 that is in really fantastic condition. All of these cars are old though, and there's usually a lot to do in order to get them functioning like brand new. The goal is to preserve the great originality, while, as mentioned, getting the car in perfect running order. New brake lines from our stock here at Virginia Classic Mustang were installed, along with new fuel lines, gas tank, refurbished suspension, and more.

Lots of the parts original finishes are being maintained...again, to preserve the original look. Check out the pictures with lots more coming soon!

1966 Shelbys (after #6S9xx) were originally equipped with under ride traction bars in order to eliminate axle hop and rear wheel hop.  These kits are made like the originals and feature the following:

• Heavy wall tubular bars with cast ends and correct "M-1" markings
• Unique 3 bolt cast axle mount brackets with "10-70" markings like the original
• Strong .187 wall tubing on bars prevents bending yet maintains the original appearance
• Durable semi-gloss black powder coat finish
• Front brackets painted copper color like NOS parts
• All hardware and bushings included

They will fit all 1965 and 1966 Mustangs.  Please note that welding is required for installation.

Just the Details...1966 Shelby GT350 Restoration and Koni Shocks

We've recently had a few folks ask about the location of the decals on the Koni Shocks.  For those not as familiar with the '65 and '66 GT350 Shelbys, the '65's and earlier '66's came with Koni Shocks.

The shocks sported a winged Koni decal, which we have had accurately reproduced.  Our part number is DF-2015.  You can click here to order.  Please note that while we had quite a few of these made for our first run, they are about all gone.  If there is sufficient interest, we will do another run. Here are a few pictures of the 4 65 (April 1965) shocks from 6S033.  These shocks had the original paint, and these photos show the original location of the decals - on these particular shocks at least.

The restoration of various components on our early 1966 GT350 (Carryover) continues.  Today, we have a few pictures of the Koni shocks.  Koni shocks were originally installed on all '65 GT350s and many of the '66s.

If you enjoy the details, it is interesting to note that these shocks were date stamped.  The particular ones pictured here for 1966 Shelby number 6S033 are dated 4-65 for April of 1965.  These had nice original paint, which was matched.

As Jeremy at Maple Hill Restoration cleaned them up, he took pictures and noted the location of the unique, original Koni winged decals.  These decals were originally a water transfer design.  We are in the process of having these printed and available for purchase soon.  They are rather delicate decals, so the restoration and refinishing involved a base/clear two stage paint that allowed protection for the decal.  The final clear was the correct gloss level to duplicate the original finish.
