Just the Details...65-66 Mustang Steering Box

In today's Blog Post, I just thought that I would take a look at the detail on some 65-66 Mustang steering boxes.  It is interesting to not that most original steering boxes that we have observed show that they were "blacked out" on the top apparently after installation.  Take a look at our pictures and captions here of a few Mustang steering boxes for more information.

Casting date shown here on 65 Mustang Steering Box.  This particular date decodes as 5=1965   A=January  12=12th day of the month.

Tag shown here on 65 Mustang Steering Box.  This particular date decodes as 5=1965   B=Feb  03=3rd day of the month.  Sorry, I'm not really sure about the "B."  The HCC AX designation on this particular box is the code for the manual steering quick ratio box that was installed on GT's and GT350's and the option suspension package.
