We started this Blog to share pictures, show new parts, and just talk about 64 1/2-73 Mustangs. We love to feature Customer Cars also. If you would like to see your Classic Mustang right here on our Blog, send us an email by clicking here to find out how!!
Carpet Underlayment made just like original to insulate your Classic Mustang from heat and noise. www.VirginiaClassicMustang.com
Classic Mustangs were originally equipped with insulation under the carpet and in other areas to help with sound deadening, vibration, and act as a heat barrier.
We are very excited to announce that we now have a new line of sound deadener / insulation / underlayment that is made just like the original. It features a needled cotton material with an asphalt backing. It's made right here in the USA by a Michigan supplier that supplies OEM insulation.
It is die cut for a very nice fit.
Not only will this insulation help with noise and heat, the carpet was originally designed to be installed with this underlayment. Because of this, your carpet will fit much better by using these pieces.
Chuck Cantwell was the Project Engineer for the '65 GT350 and other vehicles back starting in 1965 at Shelby American. Chuck has some great stories from back in the day. If you ever have a chance to meet him at a show, try to make a point to do it. He's certainly one of our favorite people that we have met over the years.
Chuck, along with Shelby historian, Greg Kolasa will be releasing a brand new book about Shelby American history soon. There will be many never before seen pictures, some of which we supplied.
We are really looking forward to this book and plan to have it available for purchase when it is released.
Check out this interview with Chuck from the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals back in November.
We recently returned from Arizona and wanted to share some pictures of the cool places that we visited. The reason for our visit was to check out one of the 85 original 4 speed equipped 1966 GT350H Hertz Shelby "rent-a-racers". We owned the car over 30 years ago! Marcus Anghel at Anghel Restorations is handling the restoration in his very nice shop. A Grabber Blue 1970 Boss 302 was also going together in his shop.
We then visited one of our favorite suppliers, Kevin Marti at Marti Auto Works. Kevin, of course, does the famous "Marti Report", made possible by his agreement with Ford in handling all of the Ford vehicle data from 1967 up. He's one of our favorite suppliers due to his attention to detail. We handle a complete line of Marti Auto Works products simply because they believe in quality like we do at Virginia Mustang.
There are quite a few reproductions of radiator hoses, heater hoses, and other items on the market, but Marti's items are Made in the USA and are far superior to others.
Both Marcus and Kevin have very nice collections of Ford and Mustang memorabilia and signs. Check out our pictures and enjoy!
