Installing Insulation During Headliner Installation

Our friend, John Murphy has sent us some more pictures. We never pass up an opportunity to post pictures of his latest project. This time, we just have some images of the headliner installation. John has used the insulation on the underside of the roof just like the insulation used in his carpet installation. Details like this during your restoration can make a big difference in the final outcome. Again, this installation is in John's 1968 California Special Mustang.

71-73 Mustang Windshield Washer Hose and Tee Kit

We are finding that more and more parts are becoming available for the 1971-73 model Mustangs. Here is one of the latest. It is the Windshield Washer Hose and Tee Kit. It features the tee and the unique tee/plastic fitting that is difficult to find.

It is now in stock-part number is EG3021.

71-73 Mustang Steering Column Seal at Firewall

This is just a really unique part that just came in. It is the rubber seal at the firewall for the steering column and clutch rod on the 1971-73 model Mustangs. This part is almost always torn or dry-rotted and needs replacement. Up until now, it was almost impossible to find a replacement. This one is, of course, unique to the manual transmission equipped cars due to it's "built in" clutch rod boot. The same seal for the automatic transmission equipped cars is just a flat piece.

Part number is SU7711.

67-68 Mustang Foot Operated Windshield Washer Pump

In 1967 and 1968, Ford went with a foot operated windshield washer pump under the dash on a Mustang. It is a fairly simple design, and now many of them no longer work. If yours does not pump the windshield washer fluid anymore, it may be a simple fix. We just got the rubber boot in stock that may just take care of the problem. Often times, this original boot is cracked or split.

69-70 Mustang Fastback Rear Trap Door Hinges

We just received these new parts. They are the Rear Trap Door Hinges for 69-70 Mustangs. They are sold as a pair. The ones that just came in are silver zinc plated as shown in the above image.

Tri-Power on a 289 HiPo Mustang

One of the many accessories available from Ford for your Mustang (or any Ford) back in the sixties was the "Cobra 6-V Induction Kit." This was a 3 x 2V Holley Carburetor set up with an cast aluminum intake and oval air cleaner. I've had one tucked away for many, many years. It will finally be finding a home as we "re-restore" the 289 High Performance Convertible that we have written about here in our Blog.

As I was getting the air cleaner assembly out the other day to refinish, I shot a few quick pictures of the carb. set up and the original air cleaner assembly.

Carpet Installation in a 1968 California Special Mustang

Just a quick post today with some pictures that our friend, John Murphy sent us. We ordered a set of carpet for him in Dark Red (Maroon, Burgandy, or whatever you choose to call it.) We keep this color in stock, but he wanted the carpet with the "mass backed" option. We have written about this before. It is a $50.00 extra option over the price of the regular carpet that we sell. It is an extra backing made onto the carpet that just gives it more shape and really makes it fit better. Please note that this "option" is currently not listed on the web site. If you call us, we will be glad to special order a set for you. We usually try and keep a black set in stock also.

Please note that John used a aluminum backed insulation that he purchased in bulk and cut on the floor under the carpet.
