Today, we have some cool images of the original C6 automatic transmission.  Jeremy carefully cleaned the case and parts and duplicated the original markings.  The transmission will also be completely rebuilt.

Take a look at the pictures.

Customer Car - 1966 Mustang Coupe

1966 Mustang Coupe.
www.VirginiaClassicMustang.com

We always love to get pictures of Mustangs from our customers.  Here's a little 1966 six cylinder coupe that we were recently sent pictures of.  This one is particularly cool, because our customer's dad was the original purchaser of this car!

Here's the note we received with the pictures:

Just want to share these pictures with you and thank you for your superb professionalism and consistent expert assistance provided throughout the past year in my ongoing efforts to restore my car (my father purchased the car new in 1966).  All the best.  Regards, Phil

Thanks, Phil!

Carroll Shelby Automotive Program at Northeast Texas Community College

There is a really cool program at Northeast Texas Community called the Carroll Shelby Automotive Program.  The curriculum of the program not only is designed to prepare students for careers in today's automotive repair field, but also to teach skills needed in the aftermarket automotive fields in building modified cars and race cars.

Students in the program were recently given a unique opportunity when Texas attorney, Rob Miller commissioned the program to build a "historically correct" 1965 Mustang to compete in the 2000 Mile Panamericana  in Mexico held in October.  The car will be driven by Mr. Miller and Wilber Grinsven under the banner of the Shelby A/P Race Team.

This unique program is led by director Keith Finnimore.  Instructor, Tony Whitworth brings a tremendous amount of passion and racing experience having worked for A.J. Foyt Racing for ten years.  He also has experience in restoring many Shelbys.

Just the Details...Restoration Update 1966 Carryover GT350 Shelby

1966 GT350 Restoration.  Panels are aligned, blocked, and final primer in on.

With all of the projects going on, it's been a while since we've had an update about the restoration of our '66 Shelby Carryover GT350 - SFM6S033.  Well, Jeremy at Maple Hill Restoration is back on it.

As I mentioned, it's been a while since the last update, so here is a link to some other posts about this car:

This isn't the exciting or "pretty" work, it's just hard work...lots of sanding.  But for you guys and gals that know that "paint jobs" are more about the preparation than the application of the color, you understand.

All the panels have been fitted, blocked and final primed!!  The next step with be getting it up back up on the rotisserie and painting the underside, inside, trunk area, and engine compartment.  Most of the components have been restored and are ready to install, so after the exterior paint goes on, the "pretty" stuff starts happening!
