We attended the Mustang Club of America Grand National Show this weekend.  It was a great event.  We want to congratulate the National Capital Region Mustang Club for their hard work and dedication.  We certainly enjoyed meeting new friends, visiting with old friends and seeing some great cars.

A very early production 1964 1/2 Mustang Convertible.  It needs a lot of work, but it is very restorable and retains many of those unique early parts.

This 1965 Mustang Convertible has less than 11,000 original miles.  Cars like this are rare and great references for restorations.

Here is another shot after more disassembly of the Mustang Convertible.

We have gotten a lot of positive feedback about our posts on our 65 Mustang K Code Convertible Project.

I knew there were some old pictures around here somewhere (remember film?), and I just ran across them the other day.  I quickly scanned in a few to show you what the car looked like when we first purchased it back in around 1980-81.  It was restored then and completed around 1983 or 1984 for its "first" restoration.  All of our recent Blog Posts have, of course, been of the second restoration.  It's hard to believe that we have owned the car for at least 30 years!!

It was complete when purchased and actually looked better than it does in some of these pictures.  We started disassembling it before we took the first pictures!

Here is the progress on the 65 Mustang during the first restoration.  Here the bodywork was completed and the front end and underside had been painted.

www.VirginiaClassicMustang.com
When the new Mustang was introduced in 1964, it was obviously an extremely popular car. Many aftermarket manufacturers jump aboard the band wagon with various parts and accessories to personalize your Pony.

One of the most popular and best looking accessories were the Running Horse Rubber Floor Mat set with the White Racing Stripes. These are really nice and made exactly like the originals with the non-slip backing. Sold as a set of 4 for the front and rear. There is even a trim line on the driver's side mat to trim for a convertible installation.

These are available in Black or Red.  Our part number is ST-912.
