1965 and 1966 GT350 Shelby Mustang One Inch Sway Bar Rubber Bushings (Insulators) are now available. The original Ford Part number on this part is C0AA-5493-A. www.VirginiaClassicMustang.com |
We are very excited to announce the availability of the one inch sway bar bushings (insulators) for the 1965 and 1966 Shelby Mustang. These rubber bushings are a Virginia Classic Mustang exclusive.
I've just noticed some NOS bushings selling for over $200.00 a pair, and I really wanted to see some nice and correct bushings available for these cars at a reasonable price.
I could not be more pleased with how they turned out. It is virtually impossible to tell these from the originals or an NOS Ford Part.
They were made using an original sample, the original Ford Blue Prints, and an NOS sample of the original part number, C0AA-5493-A.
Order Part number SU-321. They are only $22.95 a pair.

Do these come with the one inch away bar kit?
No. The one inch sway bar kit comes with "aftermarket" style bushings and brackets to fit them. The bushings in this post are exact reproductions of the original 65-66 GT350 sway bar bushings and should be used with the original brackets.
Can you tell me what the dimensions are from left to right (as the bar is installed) between the ridges/shoulders? And also the dimensions at the flat part at the bottom perpendicular to the bar (without the ridges)?
Basically I want to find our if my bracket fits these bushings.
Thanks
Jc
The measurement between the ridges (and the width of the original bracket) is 1 1/4".
The bottom flat part is 1 7/16".
Thank you for the measurements. Can you also tell me if the bushing diameter is exactly 1" or is it less than 1"? Will it fit a sway bar that has a 1" exact diameter?
Yes, it is 1 inch exactly to fit the factory 65-66 GT350 bar.
Will this bushing fit the standard oe bracket? For example the original bracket that came with the 66 inline-6?
Thanks
This bushing will only fit with the stock 1 inch bracket. The 6 cylinder bracket takes a 5/8" bushing and would be too small. We are looking into making the exact reproduction bracket but have no timetable for this.
