2021 GT350 Tour - The Keystone State Tour

Most of the GT350s arrived on Sunday afternoon for the week long driving event starting Monday morning.

The sixth GT350 Tour was recently held with our "home base" being The Hershey Resort in Hershey, PA. The Tour began in 2015 with just 13 early GT350s (14 total, counting the new, at the time, GT350 attending as a press car). There was no Tour in 2016, but with a new organizer, it was back in 2017 and has been an annual event since.

It's basically an annual "get-together" of incredible friends who just love these cars. It's evolved and grown over the years with the 2021 Tour hosting a whooping 30 GT350s! All of them being '65 and '66 models except for a lone '67 and '68.

We have been fortunate enough to attend every Tour, and this year's event was close enough to drive the old Green '66 (6S1732) through the back roads from Virginia to Hershey, PA. Our reliable '66 did not miss a beat as we drove 933 miles during the entire week. The mileage was a bit on the lower side this year just due to the huge number of cool visits that we made during the Tour. Those stops included the Yuengling Brewery, several private car collections, a scenic railway ride, and Clair Global.

Be sure to check out the pictures posted along with the captions for a bit more information. The planning is well under way for the 2022 GT350 Tour!

Just one of the several 4 speed Hertz GT350Hs in attendance. Amazing to have so many as there were only a total of 85 produced. This one was obviously prepped and ready to go!

There were only a total of 36 R Models built in 1965, and there was one on our GT350 Tour. This is 5R108.

If you are not familiar with Clair Global, look it up online. We were very fortunate to get a great tour of the campus.

It is always close enough to Halloween for a GT350 Tour costume event. We will just share this one costume picture though.

We are excited to add a new gas tank sending unit to our line up.

All 1965 and 1966 Mustangs along with some 1967 models used a 5/16 inch fuel line, and we have a new sending unit in this size.

This unit features enhanced accuracy due to tighter tolerances in the internal unit.

It comes with the rubber o ring gasket, filter, and a brass float, like the original.

Just the Details...Early Production 1965 GT350 Shelby Mustang Restoration

Side stripes are taped off on the 1965 GT350. The '65 cars had painted, rather than tape stripes.

The restoration of the early production 1965 Shelby Mustang GT350 continues at Maple Hill Restoration. Painting the stripes was quite a big and time consuming task. Now that Jeremy has that under his belt, the assembly can really begin!

If you have missed our previous posts detailing this and other Mustang and Shelby restorations, be sure to scroll down through our Blog!

They are back!

We had a very special, limited run of these great lower control arms made, and they are now in stock!

MOOG brand and Made in the USA. These are complete lower control arms with a very high quality ball joint properly riveted in along with the bushing on the mounting end.

These front suspension lower arms are actually a great improvement over the originals and were previously unavailable. Thousands have been used over the years in applications from everyday drivers to Mustangs regularly used on the race track.

We are super excited to be able to offer these again. Don't miss out while they are still available.

Here is the link to order:

More pictures of the restoration of the early production 1965 GT350 Mustang Shelby. The attention to detail is just over the top. Scroll down through our Blog to see our previous posts with lots more pictures.

Also be sure to read the captions under each image.

Check out the detail on the inside of the door...this is the inside of the door!!

Original outside door handles are being used. This shows the part number on the inside of the door handle. The originals were replated.

Earlier production Mustangs used a threaded wiper shaft with the chrome finishing bezels.

The original firewall mats were different from one plant to another. This is a San Jose version. They are getting quite tough to find in this condition.
