1969-70 Mustang Dash Pad Trim Moldings

Here is another nice part that just arrived! These are the moldings that fit on the outer, lower part of the 69-70 Mustang dash pad at the doors. They are made from black, paintable plastic. They also feature the correct grain just like the originals. Order part number ST651.

Don't forget that we also have the same type of moldings that fit at the center of the dash pad near the radio. They are part number RD221.

Mustang Lower Control Arms

The lower suspension control arms for Mustangs that we handle are the same story as the upper ones (see the Mustang suspension post about upper control arms.) There are imported ones out there that just are not at the quality level we would like to see for a suspension part. For this reason, we only handle the good ones. These are really nice Moog brand parts. We have sold thousands of these over the years.

They are available for the following models:

65-66 Mustang
- Scott Drake Brand

68-73 Mustang

Wheels for your 6 Cylinder Mustang

So you have a 6 Cylinder equipped Mustang with those 4 lug wheels, and you are looking for a nice looking wheel. Well, there are not a ton of options; but we do have a few nice ones now. For that great '60's and early '70's look, American Racing Equipment now makes the Ansen Sprint Slot Mag Wheel. We think this is a great looking wheel, and it's available in the 4 lug bolt pattern! Please keep in mind that this wheel is only available in a 15 x 7. If you currently have 14 inch tires, you will have to move up. It's really not a problem though, and we recommend a 215-60 x 15 or maybe a 215-65 x 15.

We also carry another nice wheel from American Racing in the 4 lug bolt pattern-the Outlaw II Wheel. It's light weight, looks good, and is priced reasonably. This model is available in a 14 x 7.

Both of these wheels are, of course, available for the V8 Mustangs with 5 lugs also.

Another popular alternative for the 6 cylinder is the Simulated Styled Steel Wheel Hubcap Set. This, of course, is not a wheel; but are great looking full hubcaps for any 14 inch standard wheels. The red styled steel wheel centers are included.

Mustang Upper Control Arms

We handle two different qualities/brands of Front Suspension Upper Control Arm Assemblies for your Mustang. One type consists of a metal arm that is imported but made to exact specifications and then assembled in the U.S. with U.S. Made Ball Joint and Shaft Assembly. This is the arm that we strongly recommend. You will notice that it is priced much higher than the other arm, but it is worth every penny. Speaking of the other arm, it is a totally imported piece that we only handle because some customers are only "price shoppers." If you have any more questions, please give us a call.

We also, of course, handle really nice quality 4 Bolt Upper Ball Joints, 3 Bolt Upper Ball Joints, 65-66 Upper Control Arm Shaft Kits, 67-73 Upper Control Arm Shaft Kits, and many other suspension parts.

We will save the Lower Control Arm Assembly story for another post.

289 HiPo Spark Plug Wires

Reproductions of the Ford High Performance 289 Spark Plug Wires have been available for a while now. We first had them reproduced after I searched for a set for my '65 Mustang HiPo Convertible in the '80's. They are now reproduced by Marti Auto Works. We have them available as part number WG7. These are made like the original ones with actual steel core wire. This means noise for your radio! As a matter of fact, my '65 GT350 running outside of our store will cause interference with the radio inside the building.

Anyway, we have a new set of wires now. They look just like the originals (SX markings, numbers, FoMoCo boots, etc.), but they are actually made with radio resistant wire. This is great for a car equipped with a radio. They have proven to be a very good seller and are available by ordering part number WG701.

2002 Virginia Classic Mustang Cover

Our 2002 Catalog Cover is really a popular one. The photography is fantastic. It was shot locally by a friend, and former '66 GT350 owner, Chad Gates. Chad is a professional photographer and shot this with one of his medium format cameras. Yes, it was shot on film!

Anyway, this was a local '65 Mustang Convertible. It has since been sold to someone in Europe (not sure where.) The local owner is a body shop owner and restored this car for his wife. We are still asked about the color. It was painted with Dupont Chroma Premier Paint in Chrome Yellow (Code# B9355.) This car looks great in this color and what really sets it off are the wheels and tires. The owner made a great choice with our 15 x 7 American Racing Torq-Thrust D Wheel/B.F. Goodrich Radial T/A Tire (215/60 x15) Package.
