This 1966 GT350 Shelby is one of the many projects that Jeremy at Maple Hill Restoration is working on.  It is number 6S933 and was originally a blue car without LeMans stripes.  The car is in extremely good condition, plus it arrived complete.  It's going to be a beautiful car.  Oh, and it was originally sold at Hi Performance Motors and still retains its original window sticker.

Just in case you haven't been following along with the restoration posts, or it's just been too long since I've posted an update on this particular car, be sure to click here to see a few other posts!

Today, we are going to take a look at the amazing detail work performed by Jeremy as he restores the doors.  If you enjoy fantastic restoration work like I do, please take the time to read through the entire Blog, checking out all of the images.

As previously mentioned, this Shelby is very straight, complete, and rust free.  The original door was very clean.  You will note the white paint.  The car received a color change years ago from its original blue color.

Work begins on the minor damage to the outside skin of the Shelby's door.

Not only was the outside glassbeaded, but the inside was completely stripped and cleaned in the same manner.

After careful preparation, red primer was applied to the inside of the door - just like the original.

Even the outside blue body color was applied to the area behind the door panel with the blue overspray misting to the inside, just like the original.

As mentioned, the attention to detail is simply amazing!  This is the inside of the door!  It is as clean and nice as the outside.

Here is the door for the Shelby - completed for now.  The black is dull and only primer.  The correct interior color black will be applied much later in the restoration.
