1966 Mustang Shelby GT350. It is the latest restoration project. www.VirginiaClassicMustang.com |
If you read our Blog, you know that we love the '65 and '66 GT350's, and you will see a lot of coverage about this car in the future.
This is a super nice and complete GT350. It was purchased new at Hi-Performance Motors in California. It was originally delivered with the optional ten spoke cast aluminum wheels and a 4 speed transmission. The owner even still has the original window sticker!
I can't wait to share more pictures of this car! Check out the images we have here along with the captions, and look for more here on the Virginia Classic Mustang Blog this upcoming Monday.

Thanks Brant for a new interesting blogg.
ReplyDeleteMy friend Roland in Sweden owns 6S923 and it's engine was assembled one day prior to this one, i.e. 6A6. By comparing his Ford Vin with the HiPo book registry his car was produced on Jan 12th in San Jose. When was this car produced at San Jose? To me the left fender seems to be a little tight with it's 1 15 Date.
Bo
Bo,
ReplyDeleteI think that Jan 12th date you found is only the "scheduled" production date. The actual production dates are sometimes earlier and sometimes later.
I will have to check some other dates on this particular car, but I did note that there is an original horn dated January 17th.
It appears that this car was built later than the "scheduled" date.
Thanks Brant,
ReplyDeleteDoes 6S933 still have it's original Holley carb? If so, what's the date code? Roland's is 581.

On the 1 15 3 fender, I see what looks like a crumple zone impression on the fender. On the 66 convertible I bought one fender was replaced by a ford part that had the crumple zone impressions yet the other fender which was original didn't. Any insight when they started doing this? Thank and love your blog!
ReplyDeleteJames,
ReplyDeleteThey started these sometime in late '65, I believe. These were only used on the LH side, not the RH.
Thanks for the insight. I dug into my Mustang Monthly Mags and noticed it there also. Thanks again. JW
ReplyDeleteBo,
ReplyDeleteSorry, it does not have the original carb.
I see production stamps everywhere on the sheet metal. Did they stamp the front aprons too? I see them on the rear aprons but I do not see the stamps on the front aprons. Just the VIN Number.
ReplyDeleteYes, there should be date stampings on both front fender aprons.
