It is a 1970 Mach 1 Mustang, my father (Ray Keen Sr.) purchased it in 1972 for $2,000 with the help of a family member, Kenny Baker. My father drove this car all throughout his high school career at Greenbrier East High School in Lewisburg, WV. He dated my mother (Kathy S. Keen) in it for 6 years, and they went on their honey moon in it. In the early 90's my father took the car off the road and it sat under the shed at their house. When I was 15 I started to partial restore it and got it back on the road and I drove it to high school some (Alleghany High School, Covington, VA) and to prom. In 2005 I decided to do a full restoration to it. I had it media blasted and powder coated the undercarriage and engine compartment. I practically replaced all the sheet metal and replaces all the bolts and screw with new ones and also purchased all brand new chrome. My uncle Terry Simpson painted the car for me and a good friend of mine Kenny Armentrout did the body work. Another friend of mine, BJ Fridley installed my headliner for me. I had lots of help from other friends in tearing it apart and putting it back together : Wesley Arritt, David Arritt, Nick Morgan, Larry Morgan, Wesley Wolfe, Larry Wolfe, Don Graham, Jarrell Burdette, Heath Pence, Denny Pence and Jeffrey Howard. And finally, 6 years later and approx $30,000 later, in May of 2011 I put it back on the road! It has a 351 Windsor Engine 4 barrell, with a 4-speed Transmission, hurst shifter...373 rear end.

70 Mustang Mach 1 - Family Affair
It is always cool to hear stories about some of our customer's cars. This one is no exception. Thanks for sharing.

Friggin' sweet. Nice work. Been working on our family-owned '70 Mach 1 this year also. Almost back on the road.
