Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Virginia Classic Mustang!

Merry Christmas!
www.VirginiaClassicMustang.com

I love this, so I've been posting it for the past several years.  I found it somewhere on the Internet and tweaked it a bit. I don't know the author (sorry), but it is pretty cool!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Virginia Classic Mustang!

'Twas the night before Christmas and in the garage,

There wasn't a trace of a Chevy or a Dodge.

The presents were wrapped and the lights were all lit,

So I figured I'd mess with the ‘Stang for a bit.

I popped out the hood pins and I lifted the hood,

When a deep voice behind me said "looks pretty good."

Well, as you can imagine, I turned mighty quick,

And there, by the workbench, stood good ol’ Saint Nick!

We stood there a bit, not too sure what to say,

Then he said "don't suppose that you'd trade for my sleigh?

I said "no way, Santa" and started to grin,

"But if you've got the time we could go for a spin!"

His round little mouth, all tied up like a bow,

Turned into a smile and he said "hey! Let's go!!"

So as not to disturb all the neighbors' retreat,

We pushed the Mustang quietly into the street,

Then, taking our places to drift down the hill,

I turned on the key and I let the clutch spill.

The sound that erupted took him by surprise,

But he liked it a lot, by the look in his eyes.

With Goodyears a' crying and side pipes aglow,

We headed on out where the hot rodders go.

And Santa's grin widened, approaching his ears,

With every up shift, as I went through the gears.

Then he yelled "can't recall when I've felt so alive!",

So I backed off the gas and said "you wanna drive?"

Ol’ Santa was stunned when I gave him the keys,

When he walked past the headlights he shook at the knees!

Then the HiPo exploded with side exhaust sound!

Santa let out the clutch and the tires shook the ground!

Power shift into second, again into third!

I sat there just watching, at loss for a word,

Then I heard him exclaim as we blasted from sight,

"Merry Christmas to all...........what a great night!!!"

New Part! 65-66 Mustang Windlace Retainer

1965 and 1966 Mustang Windlace Retainer
©Virginia Classic Mustang Inc
We now have 1965 and 1966 Mustang Windlace Retainers. If you aren't familiar with where these little pieces go...take a look. These retainers hold the windlace as it makes the transition from the roof rail lip to the door post lip. There is a "gap" at the end of the dash where there is nothing to attach the windlace to.

These retainers were originally installed on every single Mustang to hold the windlace in this transition area. Lots of times these little retainers are removed and lost.

This new part is exactly like the original and even comes with the proper pan head attaching screw.

Our part number is ST-411 and you can order it by clicking here.

Just the Details...1966 Shelby Mustang GT350 Restoration 6S933

The '66 Shelby starts getting some of the pretty chrome stuff installed!
www.VirginiaClassicMustang.com

We have some more great images from the restoration of 1966 GT350 Shelby Mustang - number 6S933. This is being restored by Jeremy at Maple Hill Restoration. If you missed the last post with pictures, please click here to see it.

This car was in great condition, but had a color change to white sometime during its life, so it just need to be restored. The original color, Sapphire Blue, has been applied, and this GT350 just looks awesome! It was purchased new at Hi Performance Motors, and the original window sticker is still with the car. It features the optional aluminum ten spoke wheels, 4 speed transmission, and no LeMans stripes...it's quite a striking combination.

In typical fashion, the detail and quality of work of the restoration is really amazing. Check out our latest pictures!

©Virginia Classic Mustang Inc

Our 22 car driving tour continued on the 4th day with an amazing view from Prospect Mountain. We were super lucky to have cool, clear weather.

We also made a quick stop at Hemmings Motor News.

We wrapped it all up with a farewell dinner that evening.

Be sure to check out our other three posts about the Tour!

2018 GT350 Driving Tour - Part 3 of 4

©Virginia Classic Mustang Inc

Hopefully, you have been following our Blog posts about a recent driving tour with 22 GT350 Shelby Mustangs. We covered 715 miles in the 4 days, saw lots a old friends, made a few new ones, and visited some super cool places.

Day 3 brought some not-so-nice, rainy weather, but our stops were just awesome!

If you are into vintage style Hot Rods, one of the coolest builders in the country is Rolling Bones Hot Rod Shop. They were kind enough to let our group of 44 visit. We got to see some of their projects and learned about their very focused approach in building a certain style of "traditional" Hot Rod.

If that wasn't enough, we visited a tremendous private auto collection, which included Cobras, Shelbys, and an absolute ton of other rare cars and memorabilia.

Enjoy the pictures!
