SAAC-38
If you are in the Southern California area, you may want to check out the Shelby American Automobile Club's 38th annual national convention, SAAC-38. It will be held at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, CA on July 4-6.
The best place to keep up with all things Shelby is SAAC's online forum - www.saacforum.com.
We hope to have some pictures from SAAC-38 right here on our Blog next week.

Our 1966 Shelby Project is removed from the rotisserie. www.VirginiaClassicMustang.com |
Today, we have some pictures of the car being removed from the rotisserie and put on the "roll around". It's now time to fit the doors, fenders and hood (again!) and do the final outside body work. We also have some pictures of the original fiberglass hood being stripped of paint and primer.

It's about ready to come down off of the rotisserie. The under side of the car is pretty much completed. These photos show the drips on the floor pans that were duplicated with thinned epoxy primer. These drips were originally on the floor pan ridges when the car was built.

The Mustang's 6 cylinder engine is bolted up to the custom bracket and ready to drop in. www.VirginiaClassicMustang.com |
Hopefully, you have been following our Blog about the restoration of Jeremy Turner's (Maple Hill Restoration) '65 Mustang Twilight Turquoise Convertible.
Today we have some images that Jeremy gave us of the engine installation. The stock appearing, but "tweaked" 6 cylinder is backed by a rare 4 speed Dagenham transmission. This transmission was a rare option for the 6 cylinder Mustangs in 1965 and 1966.
