Mustang Pool Table

Okay, so you didn't get what you really wanted for Christmas. Maybe you should just go out and buy it yourself! How about this Mustang Pool Table!

This is a "real" pool table with a 4' x 8' foot slate top. The "body" is molded fiberglass. The front and rear of the body are actual size, but, of course, the overall length has been shortened. It even features working lights and is Ford licensed. How much? Only $14,995.00.
Check it out at MustangPoolTable.com.

'Twas the Night Before Christmas (Mustang Style)

I found this on the internet and tweaked it a bit. I don't know the author (sorry), but it is pretty cool!

'Twas the night before Christmas and in the garage,

There wasn't a trace of a Chevy or a Dodge.

The presents were wrapped and the lights were all lit,

So I figured I'd mess with the ‘Stang for a bit.

I popped out the hood pins and I lifted the hood,

When a deep voice behind me said "looks pretty good."

Well, as you can imagine, I turned mighty quick,

And there, by the workbench, stood good ol’ Saint Nick!

We stood there a bit, not too sure what to say,

Then he said "don't suppose that you'd trade for my sleigh?

I said "no way, Santa" and started to grin,

"But if you've got the time we could go for a spin!"

His round little mouth, all tied up like a bow,

Turned into a smile and he said "hey! Let's go!!"

So as not to disturb all the neighbors' retreat,

We pushed the Mustang quietly into the street,

Then, taking our places to drift down the hill,

I turned on the key and I let the clutch spill.

The sound that erupted took him by surprise,

But he liked it a lot, by the look in his eyes.

With Goodyear’s a' crying and side pipes aglow,

We headed on out where the hot rodders go.

And Santa's grin widened, approaching his ears,

With every up shift, as I went through the gears.

Then he yelled "can't recall when I've felt so alive!",

So I backed off the gas and said "you wanna drive?"

Ol’ Santa was stunned when I gave him the keys,

When he walked past the headlights he shook at the knees!

Then the HiPo exploded with side exhaust sound!

Santa let out the clutch and the tires shook the ground!

Power shift into second, again into third!

I sat there just watching, at loss for a word,

Then I heard him exclaim as we blasted from sight,

"Merry Christmas to all...........what a great night!!!"

1965 289 High Performance Mustang Convertible

We have not updated you about the progress on our early (August 1964) HiPo Mustang Convertible in quite some time. Well, at this point, we have no glamour, no shiney paint, and no sparkling chrome to show you.

This is just the hard, time consuming work that goes into getting the body prepared for that pretty paint. Ironically, the color that goes on the outside, and everyone sees, is really kind of the easy part.

Right now, the actual body work is done. Each panel is now being primed with the appropriate primer and then block sanded for the final primer.

In the next few months, we should have some "pretty" stuff to show you, particularly when the engine is painted, assembled and detailed.

Music Video in the Dearborn Assembly Plant

From the music side of things, I believe that this video is sort of known as the first "music video." As Classic Mustang enthusiasts though, we can really get a cool insight into how the original Mustangs were built. While the quality is not great, you can really pick up a lot of cool little details in this video showing the assembly of some 1965 Mustangs. I know that I watched it several times trying to catch those little details.

Check out Martha Reeves and The Vandellas performing "Nowhere to Run."

Pretty cool...

The Complete Book of Shelby Automobiles: Cobras, Mustangs, and Super Snakes

Here is another gift idea for that Mustang or Shelby enthusiast. This is a super nice hardback book. It covers all the Shelby cars from the early days to the new Mustangs. The photography is fantastic, and there are some cool vintage images that have rarely been published. It's not just a picture book though, there is really a lot of good information in this 256 page book.

Order our part number LT612.

Here is the review from the Shelby American Automobile Club:

"When you see a book described on its cover as being “complete,” your eyebrow automatically goes up. This is especially true when that adjective is describing a book on Shelby cars. There are so many examples, permutations and exceptions swirling around in the Cobra/Shelby universe that it’s almost a slam-dunk to imagine that something was overlooked. This is clearly not the case with SAAC member Colin Comer’s latest book. He tells the story and he gets it just right; he doesn’t gloss over the important stuff and it’s not a puff piece or an homage to Carroll Shelby. The glossy pages of this book have a very high quality feel to them. The reproduction of the photos are second to none and the color values are perfect. You will not be disappointed with this book."—The Shelby American, the official publication of SAAC (Shelby American Automobile Club)

Collector's Originality Guide Mustang 1964-1/2-1966

With the holidays quickly approaching, a new book is always a great gift idea for your favorite Mustang fan. As the title suggests, this book only covers the popular 1964 1/2-66 model Mustangs. It starts with an introduction showing the basic differences between the years. Date plate information, dates on certain components, options, and many other details are covered. There are tons of nice pictures to go along with the great explanations.

Under each model year, there are sections covering Body and Exterior Trim, Date Plates, Interior, Chassis, Engine Options, Exhaust, Transmissions, Clutches, Rear Axles, Suspension, Heating and Cooling, Electrical, Wheels and Tires, and more. And again, I cannot say enough about the great color photography that goes along with each section.

1965 and 1966 Mustang GT350's (Shelbys) are also covered in the same manner in the last chapter.

I would say this is a "must have" book for any 64 1/2-66 Mustang owner and/or enthusiast.

Here is the "official" description of the book:

Author: Colin Date
Collectors Originality Guide: Mustang 1964 1/2-1966 is the definitive guide to one of the greatest cars in American history: The Ford Mustang. Launched to tremendous acclaim in the mid-1960s, this sporty car was an instant hit with buyers selling tens of thousands of units in its first months of production and launching an iconic Ford nameplate that continues on to this day. Naturally, the Mustang car became an instant classic, and has been a favorite among collectors and restorers for decades. In this paperback reissue of the highly popular hardcover book, author and photographer Colin Date walks through all of the details of the first-generation Mustang's 2 1/2-year production run, providing collectors with everything they need to know to identify, classify, and restore these iconic cars. Filled with gorgeous color photography, this book has been and continues to be a must-have for all Ford Mustang fans.

65-66 Mustang Window Channels at Rear of Front Door

We have gotten quite a few calls for these parts over the years. These are the complete 65-66 Mustang front door (at rear of door) window channel guides. They are the metal channels that are covered with a felt type of material for the glass to ride in.

They are in stock - Part Numbers IN1091L and IN1091R.

If the metal channel in your Mustang is fine, you may only need the material to cover it with. It is often worn out and needs replacement. The material only is still available as Part Number WS88. This material has a really nice adhesive backing and is fairly easy to replace.

Our Splash Shields for the Front Fender area on 65-66 and 67-68 Mustangs have always been extremely popular items. We have also had numerous requests for Splash Shields for the 69-70 Mustang models. In 1969 and 1970 Ford went to plastic splash shields rather than using the old metal ones with rubber as found on the 65-68 Mustangs.

Early (and expensive) 1964 1/2 Mustang Convertible

OK - I hesitated before posting this one, but the car is historically significant, and the auction listing is, well, entertaining. I know it will get tons of internet "air play." I decided that I might as well post it here to in case you miss it somewhere else.

If you want to overlook the ridiculous "Buy it Now" price, you may at least enjoy the interesting story and images of the paperwork about this early Mustang. I guess a $5.5 million price on a Mustang is a great way to get some publicity.

Oh, you can click on the pictures or here to go to the EBay Auction and check out the rest of the story.

65-66 Ford and Mustang High Performance Guide

We have been out of this book for quite some time. The printer finally printed them again! This is a reprint of the 39 page book from 1966 officially called "Ford High Performance: A Guide to its Fundamentals and Performance Products Offered by Ford."

Being a big fan of the 65-66 289 High Performance "K Code" Mustangs and the early GT350's, I've always loved this book! There is all sorts of information packed in the 39 pages including basic performance information and tips, camshaft specifications, transmission information and specifications, specifications on the 289 Ford HiPo engine, Cobra Engine Kits (very cool-3 x 2 carb. kits, Webers, Cobra Valve Covers, etc.), 352-390-428 engine information, 427 engine information, other Factory Ford Performance Equipment, and more! WHEW! That's a lot of stuff.

Again, it is a great book! Order Part Number LT921.

1966 Mustang Convertible Customer Car Feature

As we have mentioned before, we absolutely love to see and hear about our customers' Mustangs. Thanks to Al Bradley for taking the time to send us these images of this 1966 Mustang Convertible along with a little story!

This Mustang belongs to Lea Bradley in Sacramento, California. Her great uncle, Dave purchased it new in 1966 from Beverly Hills Ford. The car has always been in our family. The restoration began twelve years ago and was completed recently. Everything was there when we began, and it was all original. The floor pans were rusty and had to be replaced. All the sheet metal and glass are original. We painted it the original color (Ivy Green) and kept everything original with one modification -- Lea's mother insisted on the roll bar, since it's a convertible. The car is a real head turner, and everywhere we take it people ask if they can buy it. The car was built in San Jose. It has a standard 289 V8 engine with an automatic transmission, power steering, and power top. The license plates are original too. Most of the replacement parts were purchased from Virginia Classic Mustang Inc.
